Okay, okay, these chicken legs you guys… meet my new favorite way to bake chicken! Crispy, covered in Italian herb seasonings, nutritional yeast for a fun flakes, and of course more garlic. 🙂

Everyone was all over these drumsticks when I was photographing them. And since I was shooting around lunch time, everyone was more than a little eager to get their hands on one of these and start dippin’!

The sauce for this recipe is my homemade paleo ranch recipe. Gettin’ lit on my plate TOday! Hehe, I’ll stop. You guys can now go bake some crispy chicken that looks like fried chicken, but it’s way healthier and also whole30! Enjoy!

Crispy Baked Italian Drumsticks And Ranch Dip

Ingredients

  • 6 medium chicken legs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Italian herb seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • fresh cracked pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • In a medium bowl toss together the drumsticks and seasonings. Then lay out on a baking tray and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Cook on 350F for about 2 hours (*Important: keep in mind that all ovens are calibrated to slightly different temperatures and this can affect cooking time, so keep an eye on these babies and pull them out when their skin is lightly browned and crispy). Serve with homemade ranch dipping sauce.

    Hi there! I just tried this delicious recipe and had to comment after reading Deb’s comment. This recipe is absolutely delicious! I made sweet potato fries to go with, so we could dunk our chicken and fries in our delicious Whole30 ranch! Holy cats, this was one of my favorite dinners so far! Thank you so much for the recipe. Just so everyone knows it took about an hour and 15-20 minutes for chicken to cook at 350 degrees. Looking forward to trying more of your recipes!! 🙂

    Holy Moly, these were delicious! I fried them in avocado oil first and then transferred to a 375* oven for 30 minutes because I didn’t realize they needed to bake for 2 hours. They were so tasty and crispy!

    I’m confused on the nutritional data- are we talking 6 Drumsticks as in the small ones you get when making wings? I’m thinking it would have to be because regular chicken drumsticks/legs have more meat and fat and would be a much higher calorie count than this. I have to track all my nutrients and want to make sure I’ve got this correct, thanks

    Every time I have made this recipe, and it’s been a few, I first cook the chicken in the Instapot for about 15 minutes, then I season them and cook in the oven on a stone until crispy, about 15 minutes I think. That way the chicken doesn’t dry out and the overall cook time is much less. This is such a great meal, I love it!!
